WELCOME TO MY WEBSITE

Over a relatively short period, my art has changed inexplicably. I can only attribute this to five hectic years of massive personal life changes…and the emotional challenges that came with that, or maybe I’ve just grown up!

My art has evolved from intricately detailed wildlife studies for book illustrations, mostly pencil and watercolour - focusing on replicating an image perfectly to where I am now - large semi abstract acrylic/mixed media on board.

The freedom that comes from loosely using a palette knife and other tools to apply multiple layers, building up textures, colours and washes, knocking back, sanding off and re applying, encourages a form of therapeutic play and a path of discovery.

Like the ebb and flow of life, some days standing at the easel are exasperating, making me question what’s the point, then the songbird sings freestyle and it’s like her gift to me.

The journey itself is abstract, and it’s far from over...
